Important Principles of interpretation: Use the Bible to interpret the Bible, especially with figurative/apocalyptic language. Look up words in the original Hebrew and Greek. Understand the history and culture of Jesus' day.  Think of how the first listeners understood these words. (Try not to read the 1900+ year old text through a 21st Century filter.)
